Around 270 workers at a local plastics manufacturing firm are preparing for industrial strike action after official negotiations with the company broke down.
Last week the Labour Commissioner at Windhoek declared an industrial dispute when attempts at arbitration between the management of the Plastic Packaging company and MANWU (Metal and Allied Namibian Workers Union) broke down.

The 10-month-old infant known as Ismail Salam suffers from a life threatening disease, and he is in desperate need for immediate surgery outside Gaza Strip to save his life.
