Botswana police lock-up children for protesting
The Botswana police have been criticised by angry parents and concerned members of the public after they interrogated and held several children in their custody.
On Tuesday morning17 May, several concerned parents called Mmegi and complained that their children, some as young as 10-years-old, were arrested by the police during the previous day's riots in Mochudi village.
"As I am speaking with you now, I don't know how my little girl, who is 10 years old is doing. The police took her yesterday as she was walking home," said one of the parents.
